Marcia Gayle Newsom, 68, of Arkansas City passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.
Marcia was born on August 26, 1954, to Wayne and Jaunita (Maynard) Asbury. She attended Arkansas City High School. Marcia was united in marriage to Andy Newsom on June 16, 1973. She enjoyed watching Oklahoma City Thunder basketball, watching football, crocheting, and keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. She loved attending Arkalalah, going to the casino, cleaning for the elderly at Presbyterian Manor, and was a member of the VFW. Marcia never knew a stranger; everyone knew her as "Mamie." She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved to embrace their interests as her own. She loved to ask questions and kept up with all of the current events.

Marcia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tamatha and Chris Rhodes, grandchildren: Devin, Ashley, Kaylee, Libertie, Allisyn, Summer, Shane, Josiah, Jace, and Annie, and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andy Newsom, her son John Newsom, her brother Alvin Asbury, and grandchildren: Madicyn Hill and Zach Rhodes.
