Judith L. "Judy" Phelps
May 22, 1939 - September 1, 2011 72, of Lakewood, CO passed away after a lengthy battle with COPD on September 1, 2011.
Judy was born to Frank and Maxine Bargman on May 22, 1939 in Iowa City, IA. She was an only child. She grew up and lived in the Denver metro area in Colorado and attended Emily Griffith Opportunity School. Judy loved dancing, growing roses, cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends. Often around the holidays she would bake breads and make candies for her family and many friends. She was known for her compassion, outgoing personality and kind heart. During her professional life she was employed at Red Seal Potato Chips, Safeway, and eventually retired from American Express. Judy was active in the handicap community and enjoyed the Special Olympics with her eldest granddaughter.
Judy is preceded in death by her mother, Maxine (2004) and her grandson, Jared (2009).
Judy is survived by her father, Frank Bargman (Morrison, CO) and her children, Stacy Neel (Morrison, CO) and Jeff Teigen (Morrison, CO). Judy has 5 grandchildren, Erin Bargman (Lakewood, CO), Sunny Hudson (Jacksonville, FL), Nicole Goltry (Saratoga Springs, NY), Derek Teigen (Riverside, CA), Tyler Teigen (Iwakuni-shi, Yamaguchi, Japan) and one great-granddaughter, Lilliana Rae Hudson (Jacksonville, FL).
As a daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend she was loved very much and will be missed deeply. An open house service will be held at Judy's on September 17, 2011 Noon " 4:00 pm to celebrate her life.
