Rachael Keiger Dies at Age 64; Rites Saturday
Mrs. Rachacl Martha Porterfield Keiger died at 2:30 p. m. yesterday at her home, 1106 Park Avenue, at the age of 64 years, six months, and 12 days.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p. m. at the Logan Street Baptist church, with the Rev. Kyle Wyatt officiating, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 10 a. m., Friday.
Mrs. Keiger was born September 19, 1885, in St. Louis, the daughter of William P. and Martha (Berg) Porterfield.
In April 1905, she was married to Edward Keiger, who survives.
Mrs. Keiger was a member of the Logan Street Baptist church and the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Anderson of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Lillian Kuhner of Centralia, Mrs. Edrie Bryant of Iuka, and Mrs. Sarah Mae Pace of Mt.Vernon; three sons, Jesse O., of Waltonville, Lowell F, of Mt. Vernon and Edward E. of the U.S. Navy; a sister, Mrs, Lillian Wheat of Salem; and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Allen, and a daughter, Thelma Tolbert.
