Wellman-Owen C. Bringman was born May 6, 1932, near Wellman, Iowa, the son of Toney and Della (Butterbaugh) Bringman. Owen proudly served his country in the United States Army from May 1952-April 1954 where he did a tour to Italy. On May 15th 1958, he was united in marriage to Ada Arlene Binley in Kahoka Missouri. They made their home in rural Wellman where Owen was a life-long resident. Owen worked on the railroad and then finally joined his brothers, Dick and Bill working construction until his retirement. Owen moved out to Colorado in 2015 to be closer to his daughter. Owen loved spending his time fishing, hunting and watching Westerns. Owen passed away on Sunday September 11th, at the age of 90 years.
Owen is survived by 2 Children - Della (Jay) Stafford of Aurora Colorado, Mark (Angie) Bringman of Washington Iowa; 4 Step-Sons - Rollin Barnes of Cedar Rapids, Albert and Steve Barnes of Washington, and Kenny Barnes of Iowa City; 21 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Alice Bolt of Portland Oregon, Mary Cobb of Haslett, Texas and Eve Kay (Larry) Stewart of Smyrna Georgia; Brothers, Jimmie Bringman of Riverside, Iowa, Joshua(Golda) Bringman of Kinross, Iowa; as well as several extended family members. Owen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Stepsons Marion and Jack Barnes; Sisters, Helen Baker and Ruth Herr; brothers, Oren, Richard and William Bringman; and infant brother, Enos Bringman.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held 10:30 am Friday October 7, 2022 at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Burial will be at the Wellman Cemetery.
