Billye Marceline Byers was born in rural Sebastian County, Arkansas on September 27, 1928, only child of Robert Forrest Byers and Velma McLain Byers. She died peacefully on October 1, 2022 in Marble Falls, Texas, where she had lived since 2008.

Billye spent her early years among the Byers family neighborhood outside Mansfield, Arkansas interspersed with two years on Western Oklahoma. She began school in Mansfield. Her father was a farmer and died when she was 6. Two years later, she and her mother moved into town, where her mother was a seamstress.

When she was 9, her mother and Clem S. Wilder married and the new family moved to Malvern, Arkansas, where her stepfather served as Welfare Director for Hot Spring County. She took her stepfathers last name and was known as Marceline Wilder. She attended school through 8th grade in Malvern. The family moved to Texas, and she attended high school in Longview and Port Nueces before completing the last two years in Orange, Texas, graduating from Lutcher Stark High School.

The family moved to Picher, Oklahoma after the end of World War II, and there she met her first husband, Albert Clarence Plank. They moved to Southern California, and their son was born there. Later Marceline and her son returned to Oklahoma, where she began nursing, first as a nurses' aide and later as an LPN.

She attended the University of Tulsa and later received her RN degree from Oklahoma Osteopathic College. She worked at hospitals in Oklahoma and Texas.

Marceline is predeceased by her parents and stepfather. She is survived by her son, Donald Albert Plank, Sr., grandson, Donald Albert Plank, Jr. (Nikki), and by grandsons Brennan Plank, AlekZander Plank, former daughter in law, Pamela Parenti Plank, sister, Norma Wilder Huffman, brother in law Robert Huffman, niece, Kathryn Sleeper, grand-nephew, Morgan Sleeper and grand-niece Angela Sleeper.

A memorial service will be planned later. Her remains will be cremated, and Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to thank Marceline's loving and caring friends and neighbors, the staff at Granite Mesa and Baylor Scott and White.
