Betty Lou Jehs, 96, a resident of Louisiana when she peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Suites At Sugar Mill Point in Houma. Betty, or Miss Betty, as she loved to be called was born in St. Augustine, Florida on August 28, 1926, the daughter of Elmer E. "Pat" Rathbun and Zelma Lucy Heintzman.
During her long life, Betty was involved in a myriad of activities and 90 percent of them involved being around people. Even in her later years she was most happy playing cards and dominoes with her friends. Betty was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Indiana and enjoyed participating in many of the church activities. Betty had an enviable green thumb. She grew everything from tomatoes, corn, onions, green beans to gladiolas, irises, hydrangea and giant jade trees.
Betty will be missed and remembered by her four surviving children; Deborah Lewis Faydash and husband Robert of Venice, Florida; Jeffrey Mitchell Lewis and wife Billie of Bloomington, Indiana; Joel Patrick "Pat" Lewis and his wife Peggy of Berwick, Louisiana; and Julia Annette Lewis Crouch and husband Rick of Bloomington Indiana. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Joel "Joey" Patrick Lewis II and wife Lisa in Nashville, Indiana; Kristan Villegas and husband Brendan, Martinsville, Indiana; Heidi Lewis of Bloomington, Indiana; Victoria Lynette Sunderman of Englewood, Florida; Darby Mitchell Lewis and wife Erica of Bloomington, Indiana; Aaron Joseph Lewis and wife Hannah of Spencer, Indiana; Carissa Adams of Lake City, Florida; Adrianna Elizabeth Crouch of Indianapolis, Indiana; Kylie Ann Lewis of Layfayette, Louisiana; and Evan Crouch and his wife Sarah of Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition, Betty was blessed with 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, October 11, 2022 with Rev Eric Edwards Officiating, Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Monday October 10, 2022, and from 9:00am to service time Tuesday all at the funeral Home.
