Archie James Phillips, 89, of Oneida, passed away February 17, 2004, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida.

Born in Oneida, December 24, 1914, he was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Tema King Phillips; his wife, Bonnie Kidd Phillips; one brother, Lloyd Phillips; two sisters, Mildred Kidd and Wilda Phillips; and one son-in-law, Frank Jones.

He was a member of High Point Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Howard Glen Phillips and wife, Debbie, of Lema, Ind.; three daughters: Barbara Jones and husband, Bill, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Carol Jones of Westchester, Ohio; and Phyllis Reynolds of Oneida; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Jean Lay of Oneida; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted February 21, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Honeycutt officiating. Music was provided by High Point Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in Hazel Valley Cemetery. Jones & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
