McCutcheon, Roy T "Mac", Jr., (Major, U. S. Army, Retired), 73, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. McCutcheon; daughter, Roxanne M. Donaghy (Paul A.,III); sons, Roy T. McCutcheon, III (Marla), James L. McCutcheon (Wendy), Dwayne O. McCutcheon (Terry); step-daughter, Karen Sue Sheppo (Michael); step-sons, Harmon Frank Groves (Donna), James C. Groves (Mitzi); sister, Dorothy Caler (Harold); half-brother, Charles Benson (Margie); 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mac retired from the US Army in 1973. During his 20 years of service he served in the Korean Conflict as well as two tours in Vietnam. He received numerous commendations to include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Clusters, Vietnam Service Medal with 5 Bronze Service Stars, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Vietnam Ranger Badge, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Honor Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Following his duty to his country he retired from Brown and Root Construction Company after 22 years of service and was currently employed with Lowe's Home Improvement Center.

He was an active member in the Provost Guard, Past Major of the Provost Guard, Past Director of the ACCA Uniformed Units, a member of the Manchester Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge Manchester #14 and Order of the Eastern Star, #131.

Mac was an avid golfer and loved deer hunting with his friends in West Virginia.

He will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and his many friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Dale Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, P. O. Box 9217, Richmond, VA 23237.
