Marian Golda (Pohlman) Abbas - Seehusen was born on Saturday; March 15, 1924 in Ackley; Hardin County, Iowa. She was the daughter of William E. and Martha Marie (Stoehr) Pohlman. On October 1, 1940, she married Arend J. Abbas at her parents' home in rural Ackley. He died August 30, 1975. She married George J. Seehusen on July 5, 1980, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died January 19, 2004. Mrs. Seehusen received her GED from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo in 1976. She worked at Finger Hut and Jennie-O while living in Minnesota. After moving to Parkersburg she went to work for the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, in 1969, as a seamstress, where she made drapery for the dorm rooms. She also was a housekeeper at UNI, retiring in 1986.

Those left to mourn her passing are: Her two daughters: Sharon (Roger) Seehusen of Parkersburg, Iowa and Vickie (George) Streich of Delano; Wright County, Minnesota. Her son: Ronald (Marlene) Abbas of Maurice; Sioux County, Iowa. Her four stepdaughters: Darlene (Darwin) Nicklaus and Cathy (Daryl) Myers, both of Parkersburg, Iowa. Arvilla (Gary) Irwin of Janesville; Bremer County, Iowa and Marlys (David) Fisher of Hubbard; Hardin County, Iowa. Her stepson: Roger (Sharon) Seehusen of Parkersburg; Iowa. Her nine grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and twelve stepgreat-grandchildren. Also her sister: Irene (Wallace) Kreimeyer of Dougherty; Cerro Gordo County, Iowa.
Marian was preceded in death by: a stepgreat-grandson; and an infant brother: Edward Pohlman. May they rest in peace.
