Ronald R. Converse, 73, of Richmond, went home to be with the Lord at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at the North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Mo.
Ron was born on April 8, 1934 in Kansas City, Mo., to Harold and Mabel (Bliss) Converse. He married Patricia Ann Lynn of Kansas City, Mo., on Oct. 11, 1952.

Mr. Converse worked in Real Estate Development for Wal-Mart, Inc. at the Corporate Office in Bentonville, Ark. for thirteen years. He also worked in the regional office for Montgomery Ward for twenty-seven years. He was very active in scouting. He was a warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a Deacon and elder of the Independence Boulevard Christian Church, the Christian Church of Bentonville, Ark., and the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church. He was a 1952 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City. He lived in the Kansas City, Mo., and Bentonville, Ark. areas before retiring to Richmond in 1997.

Survivors include; his wife, Patricia, of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Marla Converse of Richmond; two daughters, Deborah Lupardus-Burns of Bella Vista, Ark., and Rebecca Stevens of Richmond; six grandchildren, Adam Kartus, Eric Lupardus, Gary Converse II, Audrey McDowell, Joe Stevens, and Cody Stevens; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Lupardus and Shelby Lupardus.

His parents, three brothers, Harold, Maurice and Valgene Converse, preceded him

The family suggests memorial contribution be made to either the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church or to the Boy Scouts of America.

Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 from 10 to 11a.m. at the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the church. Cremation with inurnment will be at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
