In 1938, she was united in marriage to Roy Wilson Duncan, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy, in 1968; and three brothers, Earl, Francis, and Charles Allison.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Kay Duncan Liebling, and her husband, Alex, and Betty Duncan, all of Beaumont, Texas; a niece, Patricia Allison Sterling, and her husband, Duane, of Warrensburg, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area and graduated from Lebanon High School. After she and Roy were married, they made their home near Lebanon for several years before moving to Oklahoma in 1956. In a few years, the family moved to Texas and made their home in Beaumont, Texas where Ruth had lived for over fifty-eight years. Ruth was a devoted homemaker to her husband, and family and also worked as a school librarian for the Beaumont Independent School District for a number of years. She later worked with the head start program.
Ruth made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a faithful member of Calder Baptist Church.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers and School Personnel Association in Beaumont. She was a skilled bridge player and enjoyed playing in several bridge clubs. Her family and friends will miss her natural, low key wit, unfailing sense of humor, her gentle spirit, and warm, kind, and supportive nature. Ruth was a loving mother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
