At some point, Eva met John Bradshaw (son of Robert Bradshaw and Harriet York Bradshaw) in Iowa. They were married on December 26, 1875 possibly in Charles City, Iowa. It is interesting to note that Eva's younger brother, Jospeh Lord Pike, married John Bradshaw's sister, Elizabeth Ann Bradshaw in 1876. They had four children: Edward Irving (m. Elizabeth "Betty" Hooper Menees); Nellie May (James D. Farquhar); Maude Evelyn Bradshaw; and Eugene (m.Clara Hoff). As of the 1880 census, Eva and John still lived in Howard County, Iowa.
By 1900, Eva and John had moved to Chicago, IL where John was a carpenter. For a period of time a young Walt Disney lived nearby and was a well known youngster to the Bradshaw's. Prior to 1920, Eva and John moved to Los Angeles. (See John Bradshaw's page for an intereesting Walt Disney story.) Eva struggled with diabeties in her later years and it affected her mobility. She had some toes amputated as part of her circulatory problems.
Eva died in Los Angeles on August 8, 1938 and was buried in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale. John passed away in 1940 and was buried beside Eva. They are interred in the same mausoleum as Michael Jackson, but a different section.
