Arrived from County Meath (or Westmeath), Ireland with husband William Battersby and children Honor "Anna," Mary, William Jr, and James on 19 June 1849 on the ship Aeolus from Dublin, Ireland. Catherine died one month later in New York City. U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedules, 1850-1885 states Catherine Battersby, age 38, pneumonia. Disposition NY Ward's Island Refuge.

Marriage occurred in and children baptized in Collinstown Parish, County Meath. William and children settled in Le Roy, Genesee County, New York. Some records read that Collinstown Parish was in County Westmeath.
