Mrs. MELBA (SHARP) SCALES was the daughter of James Allen Sharp and Mrs. Fawna Mary (Robertson) Sharp.

She was the wife of Warren Neilson Scales.

"Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Sharp Scales, of Jefferson, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Haggard Funeral Home chapel in Jefferson. She passed away Friday in a Jefferson hospital. Services will be conducted the Rev. George Cathcart and the Rev. Sam Stafford. Burial to follow in Trinity Cemetery in Marion County. Mrs. Scales was born in Marion County, the daughter of James Allen Sharp and Fawna Robertson Sharp. She attended Marion County public schools and NTSNC in Denton. She was a secretary and a Methodist. She is survived by two sisters, Miss Eunice Sharp, of Jefferson, and Mrs. Leola McAlexander, of Ore City; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of their choice."
