On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Louise S. Green, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt, passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family. May the Lord accept her into his Kingdom of Heaven.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Hart's Chapel on Cherry Street. The family will greet friends Friday, October 21, 2022, from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM in the Hart's Chapel on Cherry Street. Burial will follow the service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, located at 7070 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia, 31216.

Louise is survived by her son Brent Green, daughter-in-law Jennifer Green, and granddaughter Taylor Green of Covington, GA, her very dear nephew and nieces Autry Brantley (Barbara), Linda Hadden and Nan Fusinato (Tony), and others. Louise is also survived by two stepchildren Jim Green (Sue) and Deanna Foley (John) of Omaha, Nebraska and their children and grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 40 years, Robert (Bob) Green, of Gray, GA, her parents Charlie Otis Smith and Arlene Daniels Smith , bothers Calvin Smith, Lyman Smith and Everett (Buddy) Smith, sisters Eugenia Brantley, Mary Lois Ray, Lorene Smith and Doris Johnson, nephew Ronnie Brantley, nieces Betty McDonald, Sharon Mullis, Sandra Cortino and Sherry Smith. Louise is also preceded in death by her stepdaughter Marcia Stoller, of Omaha, Nebraska.

Thelma Louise Smith was born in rural Johnson County, Georgia, where she grew up on a farm, often picking cotton and doing her schoolwork by the light of an oil lamp.

She graduated Johnson County High School in 1949, and moved to Macon, Georgia, where she lived for almost twenty years. She was briefly known as Louise Smith Nobles during her first marriage.

She later met the love of her life, Bob Green, and they moved to Omaha, Nebraska, as newlyweds in the late 1960's. While living in Omaha, Louise and Bob welcomed their son, Brent, to the world in the early 1970's.

After Bob retired from the railroad in 1980, Louise and Bob moved to Gray, Georgia, where they lived together for 29 years until Bob's passing. Louise continued to live in Gray for another ten years until she came to live with her son and family in Covington, Georgia.

Louise was a long-time member of Cross Keys Baptist Church and Shurlington Baptist Church of Macon, Georgia and later Greenwood Baptist Church in Jones County, Georgia.
