Alpine, Tex, July 27 - C. R. Underwood, formerly a Baptist preacher, coming here from Waco, died in Alpine of consumption last Saturday night. He was buried in the Alpine Cemetery at 5 o'clock Sunday evening. The deceased came to Alpine, thinking the climate would be beneficial, some time since. He leaves a wife and two children, one of the children dying today after a severe spell of illness. (The Daily Express, San Antonio, Tex, July 29, 1906
