Bobby Shayne Blankenship, 54, a Beaumont, Texas, native and Berwick resident, died today, Friday, Feb. 26, 2010. Blankenship was born on July 23, 1955, in Beaumont Texas, and raised in Berwick. He lived in Reno, Nev., but recently returned to his hometown of Berwick.
He is survived by his father, Bobby Ross Blankenship of Paris, Texas; two brothers, Michael "Bubba" Blankenship of Berwick and Dana Jo Blankenship of Houston; and two sisters, Trina LeSchelle Jones and her husband, Kerry, of Zwolle, and Brenda Faye Paray and her husband, Lennis, of Berwick. He also is survived by his wife, Sue Bjorlin Blankenship, and his daughter and the love of his life, Hanna Mary Blankenship.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margery Nell Blankenship of Denison, Texas.
Blankenship enjoyed spending time with family, participating in marathona'triathlons, cooking, poetry, tennis and many other outdoor activities.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will be held at 7 p.m. officiated by Brother John Smilie of Healing Center Fellowship.
Twin City Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
