Bobbie Presley

1944 ~ 2022

Bobbie Jean Hampton Presley-Beard, the second child of Levi and Addie J. Hampton, was born February 21, 1944, in rural Lake Providence, LA. Their other children included 6 sons: Huey, Jimmy, Donald, Rickey, David and Tony; and 9 daughters: Olivia, Ann, Marilyn, Doris, Addie, Joice, Betty, Debra, and Stephanie. Her early years were spent in a small town called Epps, LA.

After graduating in 1965, Bobbie moved to California to live with relatives while attending Merritt College in Oakland, CA. Bobbie continued her education throughout the years with time at the University of Phoenix in 1998, while taking courses in computer training and advanced office skills. In 1965, Bobbie began her professional career with Bank of America. She was initially employed as a bookkeeper and was ultimately promoted to Real Estate Loan Officer. She remained an employee of Bank of America for 29 years.

In 1993, she decided to take her talents to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA as an Administrative Assistant. Bobbie made her final career move in 2000 as an Administrative Assistant with the Oakland Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oakland, CA. She moved to Salt Lake City, UT where she continued to serve until 2017.

Bobbie was married to James Presley on May 3, 1969 and had 2 children, Erica Denise and Jamie Hasani Presley. Bobbie was surrounded by family that taught her how to be responsible, dependable and not to be content with sheer mediocrity. Her parents taught her vigorous work ethics using themselves as examples of hard work and she was encouraged to never give up until the job was done. She had a great foundation with family that centered around compassion, love, and a continued drive to always be the best version of yourself.

She professed a faith in Jesus Christ as Her Lord and Savior and united with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1978. In 2018 Bobbie found love again and married Richard Beard on April 11, 2020 at Memorial Park in Salt Lake City, UT. Bobbie departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

HOW TO REMEMBER ME…
A time will come when my life will cease,
When that time comes, I ask that you remember these things:
Bury my body, but not my beliefs, bury my feet but not my life's path.
Bury my hands but not my efforts, bury my shoulders but not the concerns I carried.
Bury my voice but not my message, bury my mind but not my life.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults and weaknesses.
But let my life continue in all of you.
