HANOVER Mary Elizabeth "Bib" Nickey, 92, entered into God's eternal care Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center. Bib was the loving wife of Delone F. Nickey, who died December 15, 1988. Born October 31, 1915, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nettie (Caler) Rineman. Mrs. Nickey was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, and a long time and devoted volunteer with the Hanover Area Council of Churches. She gave of her time freely for 20 years and for 15 years she ran the clothing bank. Mrs. Nickey retired from Hanover Direct after 35 years of service as a file clerk. Bib is survived by two children, Ronald D. Nickey and wife, Mary Ann of Hanover, and Thomas A. Nickey of Ann Arbor, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Lisa M. Showvaker and husband, David of Manchester, Md., Ronald E. Nickey and wife, Kathy of Virginia Beach, Va., Tonya L. Edmundson and husband, Brian of York, Wendy A. Shearer and husband, Travis of Hanover, David L. Wildasin and wife Dixie of Hanover, Karen M. Wildasin of Hanover, and Melissa Wildasin of York; and six great-grandchildren, Jared Nickey, Emily R. Nickey, Callie R. Shearer, Erica L. Wildasin, Zachary Wildasin, and Micah Wildasin. She was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence N. Nickey; one great-grandson, Jacob D. Shearer; and three sisters, Adeline Dubs, Margaret Zortman, and Louise Mahone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover. Serving as casketbearers will be Travis Shearer, David Showvaker, Brian Edmundson, Ronald E. Nickey, Jared Nickey, and David Wolf.
