Elmer Carter was the son of N E Carter and his wife. He was born in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas and died in Jackson County, Oklahoma. He married Loryne M Huffhines on 12 Jul 1921. They had two daughters, Erma and Bettye. Elmer was a Deputy Sheriff and he was killed in a shoot-out with bootleggers.
