Anna Catherine Longacre was born to Elizabeth Oldham and Charles Andrew Longacre. After her husband's death in 1919, she continued to raise her daughter Fannie while she and her business partner Mary P. Taylor (widow), worked and lived in the lodging and boarding (room and board) establishment they ran together at 125 10th Street, Los Angeles.
