Elmer went to Penobscot schools and graduated from Bucksport High School, class of 1948. Elmer worked for Fortin Brothers for several winters. He was a Penobscot selectman in 1957. He worked for the State Highway form 1957-1968, for Fred W. Beal Co. from 1968-1976 and Fortin & Jewett Co. a division of Webber Oil Co. 1976-1995 until retirement.
Elmer enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid stock car racing fan; he also like going to fairs and watching horse pulling. He was a Mason for many years.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Penobscot.
