Funeral services for Mrs Effie C Henson, 87, were held at 2:30 Wednesday in the Union Methodist church at Jacktown with Rev Dan Eddy officiating.

Mrs Henson died Sunday at 5 p m in her home south of Jacktown, she had been bedfast for 3 years, she died two weeks before her 88th birthday. She was born Feb 15, 1870, near Cummings, Kansas and married Albert G Henson, April 8, 1888, to this union 8 children were born. At the time of his death July 29, 1952, they had been married 63 years. They lived most of the time on the land that was homesteaded with the exception of the years their children were in college at Stillwater, and the period in Oklahoma City and Shawnee while he was a member of the cotton growers associations.

The children were all teachers with the exception of Claude. the only one of her children unable to attend the services due to ill health.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs Ethel Hannah, Fayetteville, Ark.; Mrs J R Spencer, Monte Vista, Colo.; Mrs Dan Scheer, McLoud; five sons, Claude and Ray, Grand Junction, Colo.; Homer, Enid; Ralph, Snyder, New York; Paul, Hayattsville, Md.; one sister, Mrs Augusta Cron, Pocasset, Okla.; a nephew, Dr R E Henson, Shawnee; 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Four of the grandsons served as pallbearers, T J Hampton, Jr., Harold and Garold Henson, Ben Burdick, Bob Scheer and Richard Wilkerson.

Interment was in New Salem cemetery south of Jacktown.
