A native of Kentucky, she had resided in Eaton since her marriage. She was a member of the North Barron Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, S. C. Cornwell; two sons, Jack Cornwell of Eaton and Gano Cornwell of Springfield, Mo.; one daughter, Pauline Fox of Richmond, Ind.; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Oliver Swango of Batesville, Miss.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cottrell were Friday at the Girton-Schmidt Memorial Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Sam Corns and the Rev. David Derr officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
