Mary F. McBride Meadows, a born-again believer, 94, of Brooks went home to be with her Lord, Monday, 24 Oct 2022 at Bowers Hospice House.

Born 20 Sep 1928 at Big Creek, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Thelma Grimmett McBride.

Mary was a member of the Brooks Baptist Church. She was the last postmaster at the Brooks Post Office where she served the community for 20 years and the last proprietor of the Brooks General Store. She loved cooking, quilting, gardening and taking care of others. Her greatest love was her family.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Meadows in 1997; one daughter, Joyce Ann Meadows in 1948 and siblings, Ezra McBride, Ernest McBride, Rufus McBride, Irene Adkins, Roy McBride and Leslie McBride.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Phyllis Williams Ayers of Brooks; two sons, Charles "Danny" Meadows and wife Ginny of Jumping Branch and Jay Meadows and wife Lila of Brooks; three grandsons, Freddie Williams of Brooks, Andy Williams and wife Arpie of Asheville, OH and Justin Meadows and fiancée Samantha Lane of Brooks; three great grandchildren, Morgan Williams Johnson and husband Nathan, Christopher Williams and wife Lauren and Michael Williams, all of OH; one great great grandson, Colton Daniel Johnson; one brother, Eldridge McBride and wife Linda of Daniel Island, SC and one sister, Juanita Whitten of Barksdale. Mary is also survived by Stephanie Marion who was like a daughter and Stephanie's children; Shannon, Matt, and Jill who were like grandchildren and by a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Saturday, 29 Oct 2022 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Robbie Merritt and Michael Bockarie officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park near Hinton. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until time of services Saturday at the funeral parlors. Loving family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
