John J. Elliott
Dies Here Thursday
John J. Elliott, 88, retired farmer, died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Center. He lived most of his life in the Wilmot and Winfield community and farmed in the Frog Hollow community until his health failed.
Born Feb. 28, 1876 at Troy Mills, Ia., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Elliott. He was married in 1897 to Jennie Kowing, who died Aug. 10, 1952. He attended the Wilmot Christian church.
Survivors are 3 sons, Ted of Winfield, G.A. and F.K. of Fairfax, Okla.; and 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Cy Elliott of Winfield is a nephew.
Funeral rites will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at Morris Memorial chapel with Rev. L.L. Peninger officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
