Bauer, Jerome (Jerry) F. - At Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, on Friday Sept 24, 1982

Jerome (Jerry) F. Bauer,age 60 years, of 258 Albert St. Waterloo.

Mr. Bauer was born in Waterloo, and was a son of the late Edgar J. Bauer and the former Bertha Hayes. Mr. Bauer retired from Bauer Industries in 1972 and at the time of his retirement was President and general manager of the company. He was a member of St. Michael's RC Church, Waterloo, a former member of the Parish Council of St. Michael's, was the last Chairman of the former City of Waterloo Separate School Board and then was a separate school trustee on the newly formed Waterloo County Board of Education. He was a former chairman of the Kitchener Retarded Children's Education Authority, a former president of the K-W Association for the Mentally Retarded and a former captain with the K-W and Area Federated Appeal.

Survived by his wife, the former, Harriet Morse and six sons, David of Waterloo, Philip of Toronto, Patrick and his wife Anita of Milton, Richard (Dick) and his wife Susan of Waterloo, Gregory and Jerome Jr., both at home; four daughters, Anne and her husband Hugh Nauman of Kitchener, Deborah and her husband Jim Wendland of Waterloo, Mary of Honolulu and Catherine, at home. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Christine and Shannon Nauman, Jaime and Jodi Wendland, and Aaron and Tony Bauer; Brother of Raymond A. of Waterloo, Rev. David W. of Vancouver, Mary (Mrs E. P. Freiburger) and Rita (Mrs. James Huck), both of Kitchener, Alice (Mrs. Thomas Dillon) of Larchmont, N. Y. and Margaret (Mrs. Joseph Laudenback) of Agincourt.

He was predeceased by one son Matthew in 1963, and three brothers Frank N., Robert T., and Eugene R. Bauer.

Mr. Bauer's family will recieve friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S.,Waterloo on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The parish prayers will be held in the funeral home, Sunday at 8 p.m. Payers will be offered at the funeral home on Monday at 10: 30 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at St. Michael's RC Church Waterloo at 11 a.m.(Monday), with Rev David Bauer, Rev. Ted McLean and Rev. Brian Higgins officiating. Interment to follow in Mount Hope cemetery Waterloo.
