Rader Funeral Home

Dorris Hellen Moore Roeber was received by her Lord into his eternal presence on October 31, 2022. Awaiting her arrival, among family and friends, was Cotton, her husband of 67 years. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. There will be a time of visitation on Friday morning from 9-10 AM at Alpine Presbyterian Church followed by a service at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery.

Dorris was born the seventh of eight children on April 21, 1933 to Elsie Era Bradshaw Moore and Carlie Oddis Moore in Childress, Texas. She graduated high school in Corpus Christi, Texas, afterwards moving to Monterey, California to study. When finished, she returned to Corpus to begin a work career. While attending as honorees at each of their best friend's wedding, she and Cotton were introduced. This started a courtship that lead to love that lead to their marriage on June 18, 1954.

The Lord blessed their union with four children to rear. These children, plus home keeping, yard gardening, and church duties became her full time love job. In addition to being active with these, other areas she was involved with Cotton in were The Gideon's, Highway 80 Rescue Mission, and Family Promise of Longview.

After raising children Dorris was so privileged to enjoy travelling with Cotton to such places as Jerusalem, into West and South Europe, The Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska and many in-land states. The Lord truly blessed Dorris's passion of travel in her 89 years.

Dorris was preceded in death by her husband HE Cotton Roeber on February 20, 2022; her parents and siblings; Thea Moore Romaine, Jack Moore, Harold Moore, Hugh Kenneth Moore, Gloria Moore Powers, and Joe Moore.
