A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Terry W. Andrus, Sr. will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in St. Peters Catholic Church, Pine Prairie, with Father Kenneth Mayne officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie.
Mr. Andrus, 76, of St. Landry, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Ville Platte, LA.
Terry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an icon of the community owning and operating, Bayou Chicot Grocery for over thirty years. He was known by everyone for his giving spirit and loved by all. He was a hard worker his whole life. He enjoyed working in the crawfish ponds, hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Andrus; his parents, Allen and Lena Andrus; one grandchild, Naomi Ruth Andrus; and one great grandchild, Asher Garner.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memories include his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Wanda Lynn Andrus of St. Landry; two sons, Terry W. Andrus, Jr., and wife Monica, of St. Landry, and Benjamin Andrus, and wife Kylie, of Upper Pine Prairie; two daughters, Opal Andrus of Upper Pine Prairie, and Julie Andrus Reed, and husband Brian, of Bayou Chicot; one brother, Gene Andrus, and wife Martha, of Upper Pine Prairie; one sister, Sheila Blood, and husband Charles, of Upper Pine Prairie; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, Pine Prairie, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
