Laverne "Buddy" E. Ness Jr., 68, of Seven Valleys, Pa passed from his family and friends into the presence of God on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his residence. A celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Rd, Dallastown, Pa. Buddy was born in York, Pa on January 17, 1954. He was the son of the late Laverne (Bud) Ness, Sr. and Betty L (Ritz) Ness. He retired as a welder/fabricator from Yorkaire in 2020. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Buddy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda S. (Markle) Ness, with whom he would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary on November 12, 2022. He can now do that with her in heaven. Along with his mother, he leaves a daughter, Julie S. (Ness) Barley and her husband Michael of York, a son, Joel E. Ness and his wife Joleta of Wrightsville; six grandchildren, Adam Barley and his wife Sarah. Brandon Ness, Ashley (Barley) Weire and her husband Dakota, Justin Alverez, Janessa Alverez, and Addison Barley; a great granddaughter, Lillian Weire, who he loved to play with. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way #270, Harrisburg, Pa 17110. They took excellent care of Buddy the last couple of months. He looked forward to talking to them each week.
