Betty J. Polzin
November 14, 1926 - November 3, 2022

Betty J. Polzin, age 95 of Marion passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Aster Retirement Community, Clintonville.

The former Betty Jane Much was born on November 14, 1926, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, to Otto and Sophie (Koeller-Splitt) Much. She grew up in the Two Rivers area. In the early 1940's her family moved to Marion and she graduated from Marion High School. Betty was united in marriage on August 21, 1948, to Robert C. Polzin at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Dupont. She worked for some time at Dupont Cheese factory and for several years at Carver Wood Products, Marion. But her favorite task was certainly being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Her husband preceded her in death on October 24, 1989.

Betty was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Dupont. In her early days, she enjoyed bowling league on several different women's teams. Betty liked being outside, whether she was working in her flower garden or simply feeding the birds. She always loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include three children: Thomas (friend Eileen) Polzin of Red Granite, WI, Susan Miller of Clintonville, and Patricia (William) Adams of Marion. There are three grandchildren: Billie Jo (Jeff) Brown, Jill (Nathaniel) Pockat, and Jan (Kevin) Biese. There are five great grandchildren: Joseph Pockat, Emmalee Pockat, Ashley (Tyler) Zietlow, Jessica Brown, and Samantha (Aaron) Billing. There is one great-great granddaughter, Jemma Zietlow, and two more little ones on the way! She is further survived by a sister, Sharen Splitt of Oak Park, IL; a brother-in-law, David (Donna) Polzin of Marion; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Otto (Evelyn) Much; her mother, Sophie Splitt; her husband, Robert; one sister, Ramona (William) Hart; one brother, Duane (Elaine) Much; and a brother-in-law, Milton (Virginia) Polzin.

A Private Graveside Service will be held for the family at Roseland Cemetery, Town of Dupont, with Rev. Janice Kuder officiating. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, is assisting with the arrangements.
