J. B. (Snooks) James Buchanon Clark of Springtown, a retired mechanic, with the Fort Worth Transit Authority, died Friday at a Fort Worth nursing home after a brief illness. He was 76.

Visitation was from 7 to 9 at White's Azle Funeral Home. Funeral was at 10 am Monday, April 27, 1988 at the Briar Church of Christ in Briar, where he was a longtime member. Burial is at the Springtown Cemetery in Springtown.

Mr. Clark was born in Alto and lived in the Fort Worth area most of his life. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a Free Mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Muriel Ellen Preston, who died in June 1988 and his step-son Marlin Eldes Whitworth Griffin who died in May 1975. Before moving to Azle, the couple lived in Fort Worth for many years. They were long time members of Polytechnic Church of Christ.
