In Memory of Capt. GEORGE ABBOTT Formerly of the Welch Services and late [For 18 Years] Commander in the W.I.R.M.S.P.C. Services. WHO DIED AT SEA 18th Aug 1864, AGED 57 YEARS, While in Command of the Shannon on her voyage from the West Indies to England. Deeply Lamented by his widow and a large circle of Relatives and Friends. Amongst whom were the R.M.S. C. Superintendents at St Thomas, West Indies. His Brother Captains and Officers by whom this Tribute to his memory is placed to mark their high estimation of his character. ALSO IN MEMORY OF HIS WIDOW ELIZA JANE ABBOTT Who is buried here. SHE DIED 13 OCT 1867 IN HER 62 YEARS
