Willard F. Matznick, age 88, of rural New Holstein (Marytown), passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was born October 9, 1934, in the Town of Schleswig to Ralph & Eldora (Schnell) Matznick. Willy attended Fountain Park Grade School.

On September 10, 1955, he married Tharcilla Sippel at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. Tharcilla preceded him in death on March 6, 2018.

Willy helped on thrashing crews in his younger years. He then became employed with Arps Manufacturing (Amerequip) for 45 years in New Holstein. He worked in the department that built and tested prototypes. Willy loved to tinker in his metal shop. He was a master welder. His craftsmanship was seen in the animals & artwork he created out of scrap metal. Willy was also an avid collector. Part of his collections included hog oilers (which he proudly displayed at tractor shows), antique tractors, Kerosene lanterns, anything antique farming related, and many other items. Willy collected the toy farming equipment that was promoted annually by Farm Progress Days. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown, Improved Order of Redmen, Chilton German American Society, the Malone Area Heritage Museum, Vintage Steel in Calumetville, and the Wisconsin Steam and Antique Club in Chilton.

Survivors include his three children, Debra (Donald) Breit of Valders, Andrew Matznick of Manitowoc, and Sandra (Mike) Schneider of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren, Craig (Tami) Breit, Rachael Breit, Bradley (Gina) Breit, Tabitha Matznick, Uriah (Elizabeth) Matznick, Tyler Schneider (special friend, Sydney), and Seth Schneider; five great-grandchildren, Jordan & Kinley Breit, Anaih Breit, Eleanor & Weston Breit; his sisters-in-law, Salva Jean Matznick, Erma Danner, Mary Anne (Howard) Meyer, Dianne (Ronald) Reese, and Jean (Gary) Anderson; his brothers-in-law, Harold Sippel and Donald (Helen) Sippel. Willy is further survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

In addition to his wife, Tharcilla, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Matznick; his parents, Ralph & Eldora Matznick, his brothers & sisters, Vernon Matznick, Wallace Matznick, Marlin Matznick, Ronald Matznick, Allen Matznick, Alice (Arnold) Kabat, and Carol (Herbert) Messman; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, August & Isabella Sippel; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Bernice Simon Schaefer and her first husband, Arland Simon and her second husband, Francis Schaefer, Dan Danner, Nathan Woolery, Carol Sippel, Marlene Sippel, and Lillian Sippel.

A funeral service will be held at 5:30 PM on Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown (N10232 County Road G, New Holstein, WI 53061). Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will preside.

Entombment will take place at Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Willy's family at St. Mary's Church in Marytown on Friday, November 11th from 2:00 PM until 5:15 PM.
