Mr. James J. "Jim" Allen, age 89, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Mansfield, Ohio, but spent most of his life in Massillon, Ohio. He was a 1952 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and served in the United States Marine Corps for three years. He later attended business college and worked as a Branch Manager for Massillon Savings and Loan for several years before moving to Vidalia in 2012. He was also a realtor and auctioneer, and was a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Marjorie Fisher.

His family includes two sons, Randall Allen and wife Adelaida of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Gregory Allen of Ashland, Ohio; one daughter, Debbie O'Neal and husband Tony of Vidalia; five grandchildren, Ben Morris and wife Jeri of Shreve, Ohio, Tasshia Allen and Tyler Allen, both of Loudonville, Ohio, Jeremy Rodgers of Louisville, Kentucky, and Becky O'Neal of Glenwood; and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church of Vidalia on Sunday August 28th from 2 pm till 4 pm. The family is requesting anyone that knew him to please attend and share a little something they remember about him. The Marine Honor Guard and presentation of the flag will be held at the beginning of service.
