Dr. Jones spent practically all his life in this county. He was born 70 years ago in the Concord Church community, near Sage. As a youth he moved to Wideman, where he engaged in the practice of medicine. He was married t Miss Naomi Wood, who survives. He moved to calico Rock about twenty years ago and followed the practice of medicine in this vicinity until his recent illness. He was widely known over this and adjoining counties. The practice of his profession brought him into many homes in this section and his sympathetic attitude in ministering to the care of his patients bespoke his humanitarian and charitable self. It is public knowledge that Dr Jones responded to a countless number of calls for which he never received any material remuneration, never refusing a call if physically able to respond. He possessed natural ability as a vocal singer and delighted in taking part in community singings, on which occasions he usually served as song leader. He was a devout Christian, being a member of the Methodist Church.
