John Gary Acevedo, 52, died Sunday, November 6th, 2022 at his home in Biloxi, Mississippi. John was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where he graduated from St. Martin High School.

John spent his career working in the gaming industry, where he was a part of multiple establishments including Island View Casino, where he made his way from dealer to pit boss over his nearly 15-year journey there.

John enjoyed football, spending his days with his friends and colleagues, quality time with his sisters and children, grilling for his family, and being in the water.

He was a skilled handyman with a soft spot for animals in need of a home – rescuing and rehabilitating shelter dogs throughout his life. He had an amazing sense of humor with a contagious laugh and a charming smile. John was a good and honest man.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John Jack Acevedo and Donna Robbins Acevedo; and his sister, Jonda Acevedo Seymour.

He is survived by his children; Jonathon Jared Acevedo (Emily) and Dajon Elizabeth Acevedo; his sister, Dina Acevedo Coblentz (Donald), his brother-in-law, Frank Seymour; the mother of his children, Danielle Lamey Ackerman; his beautiful granddaughter, Sophia Jonda Acevedo; numerous relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and coworkers– all whom he loved unconditionally.
