GREGORY THORTON OBITUARY
Gregory Darnell Thornton was the second son of the late Preston Thornton, Jr. and Essie Mae (McQueter) Thornton. He was born on December 22, 1955, in Gary, Indiana. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1974. He received an Associate Degree in Auto Mechanics from Ivy Tech. He was employed by both LaSalle Steel Corporation, Hammond, Indiana and Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Burns Harbor Plant. He also worked as an automotive technician at many auto dealerships around the country. On the afternoon of Friday, October 28, 2022, at the age of sixty-six, Gregory entered into Eternal Rest, to be in the presence of Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Essie Thornton, and his grandparents. He leaves to cherish precious memories of him, his siblings, Vincent (Theresa) Thornton, Preston (Kisha) Thornton, Tamara (Charles) Taylor and a host of family and friends. Visitation Friday November 11, 2022, from 9-11:00 a.m. Funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. All services at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
