Joseph P. WHALEN

Joseph Patrick WHALEN, 1099 Sherman Avenue, died at 1:40 PM, Saturday in Sharon General Hospital after a six-month illness. He was 74.
He was born in Sharon on Jan 5, 1895, to Joseph J. and Mary KELLY WHALEN.
Mr. WHALEN retired in 1960 from Westinghouse Electric Corp, Transformer Division, Sharon, where he was employed in section I-30 maintenance Department.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sharon; Loyal order of Moose, Farrell Lodge, and local 617, International Union of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO.
Surviving are his widow, the former Hazel M. KING, whom he married on July 4, 1922; two daughters, Mary Ellen, wife of Louis REVYNAK, Parma Ohio, and Anna Mae, wife of Robert MUNSON, Sharon; five sons, Joseph, Cleveland, Ohio, John Robert and Patrick, all of Sharon, and James, at home; four sisters, Mary, wife of Nick CONDOS; Agnes, wife of Albert SCHELL, Alice, wife of Abner SCOTT, and Catherine, wife of James TOBIN, all of Sharon; a brother, Edward WHALEN, Parma Ohio, 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, William and Eugene; a daughter, Miss Eileen WHALEN, a brother, Patrick, and a sister, Mrs. Ann PAISLEY.
