Elaine M. (Lindwall) Hofmiller, age 80, longtime native and resident of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Hofmiller. Born in Bridgeport on March 20, 1942, she was a daughter of the late George M. and Helen (Rose) Lindwall. Mrs. Hofmiller was a proud member of the first graduating class of Andrew Warde High School that had attended all four years. She later obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Sacred Heart University in 1984. She began her working career as a paralegal and also served as administrative assistant to the president and vice president of Trefz Corporation. She would eventually finish her career as an accountant in various capacities with a religious non-profit organization. Elaine, affectionately known as "Sarge", "Oz the Great and Powerful" or "Meme" to everyone close to her, will be best remembered for always being the first to lend a hand to everyone in need and always supportive of her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Susan Becraft and her husband Joel of Fairfield, Robert Hofmiller and his wife Cheryl of Oxford and Jimmy Velgot and his wife Christina of Stratford, her sisters, Sharon Szturma and her husband Bill of Stratford, Terri Lindwall Gennetti of Milford and Karen Cubbellotti and her husband Joseph of Orange, her sisters-in-law, Marcia Lindwall of Fairfield and Kitty Hofmiller of Huntington, brothers-in-law, Joseph Hofmiller of Milford and Albert Smith of Shelton, as well as seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Robert, she was also predeceased by her brother, Dennis Lindwall, her sister, Kathy Smith and brothers-in-law, Matthew Hofmiller and Raymond Hofmiller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital POPS Program, www.shrinerschildrens.org.
