The 1900 and 1910 Census documents state he was a Blacksmith, and a Chain Maker on the 1920 Census. No profession was listed on the 1940 Census for him. According to his obituary, he had been receiving treatment for six months. This includes the date of the Census which doesn't state a profession. His second wife, Nellie Morris Glaze is on the 1940 Census, along with her grandson, Ralph Russell Porterfield from her first marriage. Ralph Russell Porterfield's mother is Florence Olive Landers Porterfield (later Roberts). His father is Ralph E. Porterfield.
Nellie Morris Glaze married Mr. Landers after her second husband fell asleep in death. I have not located an obituary on Nellie.
Thomas was a Spanish War Veteran.
