Leah M. Carr, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 7, 2022.

She was born on July 10, 1928, in La Porte, Indiana. Her parents, Ben C. and Eva L. (Mangold) White raised her with sisters, Mary (White) and Verna (Birse), on a farm in rural New Carlisle, Indiana near Three Oaks, Michigan. On Valentine's Day 1948, she married James William "Bill" Carr. They raised 9 children on a small farm near New Carlisle: Claudia, Jim (Day), Dave (Sandy), Dale (Nancy), Steve (Ina), Cheri (Bill) Hagerman, Sue (Scott) Dobbs, Joe and Ken (Tammie) and cared for an 'adoptive' daughter, Tricia Bryant McMeans. Leah loved her 23 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren thank her for the love, prayer, guidance, meals, listening and support she provided so willingly and frequently.

Walking with Jesus was the strength of her life. She brought joy and love to many people and her home was open to many drop-in visitors and family members. Leah visited many friends in the nursing homes. Her children accompanied her on these and home visits, and learned at a young age, to care for others in different circumstances. Leah enjoyed many visits with her surviving sister-in-law, Annie Amen. Many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends have blessed her over the years with letters, phone calls and visits.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Claudia; her husband; parents; sisters; daughter in law, Karen Carr; and grandson, Joel Dobbs.

Leah enjoyed making custom draperies for many years at JW Draperies. She was an active, service minded member of the New Carlisle Wesleyan Church. Leah was aware of the needs of others worldwide and made regular contributions to many ministries.
