Mrs. Sandra Kay Smith, age 82, departed this life on November 12, 2022, with her husband by her side. She was born on August 12, 1940, in Springfield, MO to Ray and Jewell Fields. She was united in marriage to Dave Smith on June 9, 1962, and had three children: David Ray Smith, Julie Ann Bryant, and Jeffrey Alan Smith.
Sandra was a member at Seminole Baptist Temple in Springfield since 1967, where she taught Sunday school for 28 years and sang in the choir since 1988 until dementia kept her home. When Sandra was a child her grandma King led her to the lord. At that time Sandra being a young child decided to accept her lord as her personal savior. She loved talking to other about the Lord, along with attending several bible studies. She also had a love for adventure and went sky diving with her grandchildren while she was in her early 70's. She also went to several cruises, a couple trips to Jerusalem, zip lining, parasailing, and a 25th anniversary to Hawaii. Sandra lived life to the fullest with her husband Dave.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Dave Smith; son David Smith and wife Angie of Battlefield, MO; daughter Julie Bryant and husband Jeff of Everton, MO; son Jeffrey Smith and wife Tanya of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren: Alisa, Hannah, Tyler, Hunter, Jordan, and Morgan; great granddaughter Arya who gave her great joy; brother Dennis Fields, and wife Janis of Ozark MO; sister Donna Morris of Florida, along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is her sister Debbie Robinson this past summer, her father Ray Fields, and her mother Jewell Fields.
Services for Sandra will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 18, 2022, at Seminole Baptist Temple. Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Selmore Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be given in her memory to Gideons Bible. You may present your contribution to the Adams Funeral Home staff, and they will be in contact with the president.
