OAK GROVE, LA - Funeral services for Curtis Shelton Butler, age 87 of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Forest Baptist Church in Forest, Louisiana.

Reverends Tim Sharplin and Leslie Yates will officiate.

Interment will follow in the New Forest Cemetery in Forest, Louisiana.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Cox Funeral Home, 200 East Noble Street in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Mr. Butler passed into eternal life on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Curtis worked as a sales manager for Farm Bureau for many years. He was instrumental in Dixie Youth Baseball in Oak Grove for many years. He was a member of Forest Baptist Church. Curtis was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.

He is preceded in death by granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Roberson; his father, William Samuel Butler; his mother, Tiney Pearl (Fortenberry) Butler; and many brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Jean (Crowe) Butler of Oak Grove, Louisiana; daughter, Jill Roberson of Oak Grove, Louisiana; granddaughter and her husband, Shelly and Jude Johnston of Rayville, Louisiana; grandson and his wife, Patrick and Lauren Roberson of Oak Grove, Louisiana; granddaughter and her husband, Kara and Ethan Benton of Oak Grove, Louisiana; granddaughter, Anna-Claire Roberson of Baskin, Louisiana; 4 great grandchildren: Caroline Johnston, Jackson Johnston, Patton Roberson, and Will Benton.

Pallbearers are: Tom Pollard, Tommy Futch, David Johnson, Kenny Nix, Brad Johnson, Donny Butler, Carl Butler, and Henry Butler.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Deacons of Forest Baptist Church, Men's Adult Sunday School Class, Don Estep, James Adams, Vendal Fairchild, Von Carroll, Mack Lancaster, Glen Tanner, Dennis Crowe, Larry Denmon, and Jimmy McCow.
