Visitation:Visitation will be Monday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Mr. Roy A. Boone, Jr. will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers in Pineville with the Rev. Ronald Parks officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Boone, 81, of Pineville, died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Boone was an educator for the Rapides Parish School System for 40 years. He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter, and overall sportsman. He was a referee for high school and collegiate basketball for more than 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Boone, Sr., and Wilma Fulton.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Billie Coats Boone; a son, Reagan Boone; sisters, Eva Boone Parks, Annette Boone Rougeou, and Sunshine Boone Hickman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be J. T. Rougeou, Steve Henry, Shad Hickman, Jimmy Williamson, Carl Rachal, George Williams, Paul Clark, and Percy Clark.
Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
