OSWEGO - Michael W. "Mike" Roberts, 49, of Oswego died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his residence. His death was unexpected.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1958, at Parsons to James E. "Jim" and Laura Belle (Carr) Roberts. He grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools.
He was employed at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center for the past 28 years as a mental health technician.
He married Christina Burton. They later divorced.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to target shoot, hunt and fish.
Survivors include a son, Ethan Roberts of Oswego; a daughter, Brittany Roberts of Oswego, two brothers, Jim Roberts Jr. of Larned and John Roberts of Parsons; a sister, Brenda Roberts of Oswego; and nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Justin, Jessica and Jeffery Hinman, all of Pittsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS.
