GARWIN PIONEER DIED CHRISTMAS
John M. M. Price a resident of Garwin since the town was established , died at about 5:45 Christmas evening , death result of a paralytic stroke which he suffered Saturday night. He had been in critical from the first, the stroke leaving him blind and unable to speak
Funeral services for Mr. Price were held at 1:30 O'clock this afternoon from the United Brethren church being conducted by Rev. E. H. Socwell pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist Church and an old time friend of Mr. Price. Burial was in the Garwin Cemetery.
John Milton Marion Price, was born at Mansfield Ohio, Dec 17 1852, and had attained the age of 71 years 8 days at the time of his death. He was the son of Erasmus E. and Mary Rummell Price. He has worked at the carpenter trade for many years, and a number of years had been assessor for the Carlton Township. He was of jovial disposition and friends were numerous.
The deceased is survived by his son Frank Price of Sioux City, who reached Garwin before his father's death. and a daughter , Mrs. Edward Ruppenkamp, near Garwin. His wife preceded him in death many years ago.
He married Nancy Jane (Midgett) Fitzgerald - June 4th 1875 - Toledo Tama Co Iowa - Died 1894 - Please note the did not have her Obit )
