Lou Gehrig Allen, 69, formerly of Malone, died Thursday afternoon, November, 17, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at CVPH in Plattsburgh. New York, surrounded by his family.

Lou was born in Malone, New York on April 25, 1953 to Carmen Allen Sr. and Pauline (Lamica) Allen

Mr Allen was a well known Entertainer in Northern New York and in parts of Vermont. He loved playing Karaoke and singing at nursing homes in the North Country and Vermont! Lou played in a few bands and one of the bands was (The Sunset Playboys). Lou started singing at about four years of age. On a funny note the first song Lou made up was ( A Tree Was Dancing In A Fire)

In 1957 Lou's father died and by 1960 his family moved to Saranac,NY. Lou attended Saranac Central School and graduated from there.

Lou started working at many drive-in theaters in the Plattsburgh area and became a manager at various movie theaters from New York State and Ohio.

Lou met and fell in love with Margaret (Peggy )Benware. They were married for 42 years and then separated. They had three children; a son, a son and his wife; a daughter and husband, and his granddaughter; Lou is also survived by five brothers and their wives. Lou has many nieces and nephews in the North Country, Canada and Ireland.

In Heaven Lou has joined his Mother and Father along with his sisters, Connie Drollette and Jill Favaro, Taylor and his brother, Marty (Allen) Lamica.
