Kereen L. Schnee, 77, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Indian Hills care center, Sioux City, IA.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Burial of the ashes will be at Grandview Cemetery, Quimby, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Kereen LaRae Bollin was born Aug. 24, 1930, in rural Quimby, Iowa, the daughter of E. Ray and Opal B. (Longwell) Bollin. The family moved to Kingsley, Iowa, where she attended Kingsley High School.

She was married to LaVern Dean Willer on Feb. 7, 1948. To this union, two children came into their family, Perry LaVern and Robin Gae. She later married Joseph Matthew Schnee on May 13, 1967.

She was an excellent waitress and worked at several restaurants in the Sioux City area including The Townhouse, The Pancake House, The Palmer House, Truck Stop Cafe and others. Most recently she had worked in the senior companion program.

She enjoyed her yard work and was a great cook, known affectionately as the "pancake grandma" to her grandson, Marcus Jackson.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Perry and Mary Ann Willer of Colfax, Calif.; a daughter and her husband, Robin and Leonard Tanner of Jefferson, S.D.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Corey and Rachel, Jessica and George Tamayo and Kristi (who Kereen helped raise and was like a daughter to her) and Charles Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Kaden, Elli, Israel, Alicia and Marcus; and two brothers and their wives, Jim and Penny Bollin of Green Valley, Ariz., and Gary and Kathy Bollin of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Andrew F. and Susie A. (Mapes) Bollin and Lewis L. and Emma P. (Jones) Longwell; her former husbands, LaVern Willer and Joe Schnee; four brothers, Wayne E., Douglas W., A. Franklin and, Neil R. in infancy; and two sisters, Maxine E. Fellom and D. LaVon Gibbs.
