Eva Joe (Tullos) Godwin, 91, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 26, 2022.
Eva Joe was born February 26, 1931, to Joe and Sarah Tullos in Opelika, Texas. She was the baby of 13 children. She attended Brownsboro High School where she was named Freshman Class Officer and chosen Who's Who for her leadership to her student body. She attended Henderson County Junior College. She was employed by Henderson County Junior College where she would later retire. After retirement, she was busy being Memaw to numerous grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of County Line Baptist Church for many years where she served fervently. She was also a proud member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. Eva Joe was a prayer warrior who loved the Lord and her family, setting an example of Christ's love for her children, grand-children, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was quick to let each one know how much she loved them. She found great joy in serving her family around the table, always being the last to sit down to eat.
Eva Joe was preceded in death by the love of her life of 50 years, Willie Robert Godwin, her parents Joe W. Tullos and Sarah (Morrison) Tullos and grandson Michael Lee Godwin. She is survived by her 5 children Gary Godwin, Ricky and Jana Godwin, Karen and Jimmy West, Pam and Scott Thompson, Terri and Kenneth Blevins, grandchildren Stephanie and Rick Profitt, Eric and Mandy Godwin, Vanessa and Anthony Hernandez, Sarah and Zachary Collins, Chad and Amanda West, April and Justin Ward, Taran and Adam Purselley, Taylor Watson, Braden Thompson, Garrett and Laurel Thompson, Jessie and J.D.
